We
left Lhasa on June 9th, heading south and west, climbing in elevation.
It was a long full day driving along narrow bumpy roads with hairpin turns with
magnificent views.
Reservoir near Gyantse

Gyantse (3950m) in the Nyang Chu valley, 245km south west of Lhasa, home
of the Kumbum, a beautiful tiered structure. Part of the Kumbum can be
seen behind some of the compound buildings.
